How to Fix RapidWeaver Contact Form Not Sending Email

Using RapidWeaver to publish a contact form, but having trouble receiving any of the form submissions via email?

Perhaps your RapidWeaver site’s contact form is showing the following error message when a visitor tries to make a contact form submission:

“I’m sorry, there seems to have been an error trying to send your email. Please try again.”

This easy tutorial shows you how to properly configure a contact form in RapidWeaver so that it sends you an email each time a new submission is made via the contact form.

To configure your RapidWeaver contact form correctly:

  1. You’ll need to have an email address on the same domain where your RapidWeaver contact form resides.

If you’d like this email address to have its own password, ensure that you have already created the desired email account in your hosting account’s cPanel.

Alternatively, if you’d like messages to this email address to be forwarded to a different email destination instead, you may set it up as an email forwarder in your hosting account’s cPanel.

  2. Open your website in RapidWeaver.

  3. On the toolbar in RapidWeaver, there are two icons above the label named Inspector. Select the icons so that they are both highlighted.

  4. In the left sidebar, select Advanced.

  5. Look for the setting named PHP Version and set it to PHP 8.2.9.

  6. Select View > Page Inspector > Plugin Settings from the menu bar at the top of your screen.

You should now see a pane on the right showing your contact form settings.

  7. In that pane, ensure that the Send To field contains an actual valid email address that you picked in step 1.

For example, if you’re publishing your RapidWeaver website for the domain example.com, enter a fully functioning email address that ends with @example.com. You should already have such an email address, since this was created in step 1.

  8. Toward the bottom of that pane, there is a section labeled Advanced. Ensure that the options named Send email using your email address and Define email address in PHP mail script are both enabled.

  9. Use our guide to publish your website using RapidWeaver.

Your RapidWeaver contact form is now properly configured to send you email messages correctly.
