How to Install WordPress on a Domain in Your HostM Hosting Account

Our built-in web app installer allows you to easily install from over 200 plugin web apps, including WordPress.

To install WordPress on a domain in your HostM hosting account:

  1. Make sure that you’ve already added the domain to your HostM hosting account.

  2. Sign in to your hosting account’s cPanel.

    Your cPanel access details are listed on the Info page for your hosting account at the Client Lounge.

  3. Under the Software section, click Softaculous Apps Installer.

  4. Hover your cursor over the WordPress icon, then click the blue Install button.

  5. Enter the following details:

    • Choose Protocol:

      • https:// (if installing on a subdomain)
      • https://www. (if installing on a root domain)

      A root domain would mean something like while a subdomain would refer to

    • Choose Domain: (Select your root domain or subdomain)

    • In Directory: (Leave blank, i.e. delete the default 'wp' entry)

    • Site Name: My Blog (can be changed later)

    • Site Description: My WordPress Blog (can be changed later)

    • Enable Multisite (WPMU): Off

    • Admin Username: (Enter your desired admin username)

    • Admin Password: (Enter a strong and unique admin password)

    • Admin Email: (Enter the admin’s email address)

    • Select Language: English

    • Advanced Options

      • Database Name: (Leave untouched)

      • Table Prefix: (Leave untouched)

      • Disable Upgrade Notifications: Disabled

      • Auto Upgrade WordPress Plugins: Enabled

      • Auto Upgrade WordPress Themes: Enabled

  6. Click the blue Install button, and wait for the process to complete.

    Once completed, you will be presented with important links relating to your WordPress installation. Make a note of the links, and you’re done!
