| After registering a domain with HostM.com or any other registrar, it typically takes between 24 and 72 hours for your domain to show up in the WHOIS database and for the information on the new domain to propagate to all the root DNS servers. It takes some time to propagate to other databases. This is called "propagation". Your website will not show up during that time.
The registry only updates the zone files from their database once every 12 hours, and as domain sales increase, so does the queue. VeriSign Global Registry updates at 5:00 am and 5:00 pm EST.
Please know this is under the control of the registry, and we does not have any abilities to make this happen faster.
Nevertheless, once you register a domain through HostM.com, you have the undisputed registration of the domain.
If you check for the availability of the domain in the WHOIS database, the database may indicate that the domain is available when it is not. However, if someone tries to register the domain with another registrar, they will be unable to because the master database is updated immediately when you register a domain.
If your domain name is hosted with HostM.com, once the domain is active, you can start to upload your files onto your website. Subdomains can only be created once the domain is active. |
